## What it is

Gemini 4 Argon is Google's flagship AI model, first of the Gemini 4 generation. Announced September 30, 2026 (limited to Fairwind cybersecurity partners); rolled out worldwide October 13, 2026. Built for "deep work": long, multi-step tasks in coding, finance, law, cybersecurity, and science.

## Signature features

- **1M output tokens** — up to 1 million tokens in a single response (vs 64K on earlier Gemini models), via Long Decode Continuation (pauses long responses, resumes them in later calls so requests don't time out).
- **Unified 1M-token context window** — shared across input, thinking, and output.
- **Tunable thinking levels** — low, medium, high reasoning per request.
- **Input**: text, images, video, audio. **Output**: text.

## Benchmarks

- Independent (Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v4.3.2, high reasoning): **Gemini 4 Argon 53**, tied with GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1; Claude Opus 5.5 58. Cost per index task: ~$1.99 at introductory pricing.
- Vendor-reported (Google's own numbers, not independently verified): DeepSWE v1.1 77.9%, LVBench 91.7%, AutomationBench (Zapier) 51.3% (1st), CWE-bench v1 68% (tied 1st), Vals Index v2.1 68.9% (leads).
- Internal (Google): +35% agentic code submissions, ~1/3 fewer rollbacks in Antigravity.

## Pricing

- Introductory (through November 30, 2026): $2 per 1M input tokens, $10 per 1M output tokens, $0.10 per 1M cached input tokens (95% off).
- Standard (from December 1, 2026): $4 input, $20 output. Post-November cached pricing not published; this page's calculator assumes the 95% discount continues ($0.20) and labels it an estimate.
